Hi!  I am a community based musician and artist.  I work (& play!!) in a variety of singing contexts with adults and children.

I have loved to sing and play guitar since I was a child and this desire has been nurtured and affirmed over the years through my involvement with various groups,

bands and individuals.  Singing transports and transcends and is an amazing way to express oneself whether through an original song or enjoying timeless favourites!

In 2004 I met Belinda McArdle (then Densley) at her Geelong West acabellas singing group and a strong connection formed.  I have embraced new opportunities to lead singing where I can share my love for singing and harmonising with others.  I like incorporating the use of instruments as a way of music making.  I believe that as we all have a voice we all have a capacity to sing and to be supported in singing together.  When leading, I hope to create an environment where individuals feel empowered to have fun, explore their own voice and have a positive experience of singing with others or as an individual.

Some of the singing work I currently do includes working as a Teaching Artist in primary schools with an organisation called ‘The Song Room’ and I have worked with several primary school choirs.  I also provide guitar and ukulele lessons in group and individual sessions.

The community singing groups I facilitate include Brougham Gallery acabellas singing and Leopold acabellas singing.

Brougham Gallery acabellas gives singers a chance to start their week with an uplifting, energising, fun & relaxing singing experience surrounded by beautiful art!

Leopold acabellas singing group is inviting singers to sign up for the New Year for 6 sessions, starting from February 2 to March 9 for $60.  Places will be limited with a minimum of 15 committed singers.    All singers are welcome but bookings are essential.  We shall ease back into the New Year with a fabulous repertoire of songs incorporating harmonies.

You can contact Lisa on 0430 433 909 or lisasingline@acabellas.net.au

Here are some reflections from some singers in the groups:

“Individually we may not have great voices but in a group the voices blend to become a much better sound.”

“We get together, sing, have fun and on occasion perform to community audiences.”

“For years I have had a passion to sing but have never had the time, or the nerve. Becoming part of this group has given me the opportunity to indulge that passion”

“Singing…is like feeding my soul. It’s such an energy boost and I always come away feeling so much more relaxed and balanced after a good sing.  It’s great meeting new people from all sorts of walks of life... all sharing in a common thread of a love to sing,"
